Company History

Financial Guidance was founded in 1994 by tax attorney, estate planning and life insurance specialist, Harold Unger, with a vision to develop financial guidance tools to support professional advisors and the companies that employ them.

From basic financial calculators to complex cash flow based planning tools Financial Guidance has the tools to help both the enterprise and the individual advisor succeed. We offer four levels of planning functionality in two integrated product sets; Methuselah and Financial Compass. Our technology platform uses a common database and calculation engine. Therefore, data needs only to be entered once, regardless of how simple or complex the analysis. This common data is able to flow through all levels of the product suite.

Financial Guidance provides both web-based deployments and synchronized desktop applications. Our centralized enterprise platform also allows for hybrid deployments. Our "occasionally connected" applications can work either in a tethered environment or in a disconnected mode with synchronization to a centralized database once a connection is restored.

In addition, our Enterprise Management System provides centralized data storage and management, activity reporting, compliance management, application maintenance and updating, and product licensing administration. Our open architecture enables full integration with existing systems including CRM, sales lead generation, asset allocation, quotation, proposal and product illustrations, and back-office systems.

We pioneered the concept of utilization pricing for our enterprise clients - you pay for what you use. We stand behind our products; if they're not used, you don't pay. Our institutional pricing models allow for alignment with our client’s success objectives.

In December of 2007 Scivantage, Inc. of Jersey City, NJ acquired the right to Financial Compass and Methuselah from Unger Software. These flagship financial analysis and planning products created the foundation Scivantage’s financial planning and guidance group.
